The Drew was unveiled with Chloé's Fall/Winter 2014 collection, under the creative direction of Clare Waight Keller. Its success was immediate. The silhouette — a rounded flap saddle bag worn by a fine chain — reinterprets the seventies codes dear to the Parisian house while radically modernizing them. The rectangular turn-lock clasp, placed at the center of the flap like a piece of jewelry, became one of the house's most recognizable signatures within a few seasons. The Drew was quickly adopted by Beyoncé, Olivia Palermo, and Blake Lively, among others, and established itself as one of the definitive it-bags of the decade.
This piece is crafted in pastel pink grained leather — a soft, powdery shade that plays between pink and nude depending on the light. The grained leather gives the bag its structure and resistance to daily wear. The contrast with the gold-tone jewelry — clasp, tubular bars at the chain attachments, links — creates a balance between softness and brilliance. The leather is clean, the corners are clean, the edges are in good condition. A lovely leather scent upon opening.
The fine link chain measures approximately 104 cm and allows for shoulder or crossbody wear. The flap and turn-lock opening provide access to a main compartment that fits a phone, compact wallet, passport, AirPods, lipstick, and keys. An interior slip pocket helps organize smaller items.
